Insane Sydney Storm Structures 30th January 2016

Even with low level wind shear ripe, models never properly picked up on this event! Only up to 500 CAPE was progged on GFS. Based on adjusted soundings with high dew points and heating, the CAPE values would have exceeded 2000J/kg. A giant hail warning was issued for one of the cells – a rare warning for Sydney. In between two likely supercells, there were two very interestingly structure storms. High contrast provided ample opportunity for photographs!
