Stormwise, well what can I say - poor season - big events in there. First you intercept the Lismore supercell event, then I the tornado at Dunoon and now the massive western Sydney hailstorm - a supercell that reached heights apparently of 50000 feet! That is pretty damn high for the Sydney region. The atmosphere of late is fairly deep and fairly tropical. Some of the guys estimated CAPEs of 4000+. The cricket ball sized hail is therefore not unexpected. The damage - unwanted. It makes the Aussie battlers struggle even more prior to Christmas. More here:
