The weekly rainfall map clearly shows the effect of the path of the tropical low and associated rainfall event. Rainfall of the order of over 200mm occurred in several locations although spots of about 400mm also were observed. Howard Springs received a total of 412mm in the recent rainfall event associated with intense tropical low.
In contrast, there are parts of the country officially decleared in drought with some nearly receiving the lowest rainfall on record. The istuation is grim with more areas expected to enter official drought declaration if rain does not occur soon.

Inland QLD appears to be the hardest hit. It went from flooding rains for two seasons to nothing very quickly. The Forecast tropical cyclone will be welcome if its rains can spread to inland QLD.
