Detecting hail damage on plants

In the recent hailstorm that hit my area, this is the damage created by the hail – I guess it now becomes a new variety of this species:) The storm did last about 15 or so minutes with hail falling fairly profusely particularly at the beginning of the storm and then within the main core. We live not too distant from Kings Langley which scored the highest metropolitan fall in the event.
