The attached images show an impressive display of lightning over parts of Western Sydney late Saturday evening.

This was a non severe storm but did produce an impressive display of lightning over Western Sydney. Several cloud to ground strikes were observed. All these are looking west from Doonside.

At around 10 pm, a small thunderstorm passed over parts of Western Sydney. I could tell that the storm was high based. It produced little rainfall although a light shower passed over.

One can tell this was a high based cell but rainfall was scant across the Doonside area.

Given the conditions, it featured an impressive display of lightning and several cloud to ground strikes were observed.

Some powerful flashes and strikes were observed.

Late Saturday afternoon, a few isolated thunderstorms developed over parts of the Southern Tablelands to the south of Sydney. Rainfall from these appeared to be light and I did not chase these.

One of my favourites. The best lightning appeared to occur toward St Marys.

I was also aware of another cell, well to the northwest of the ranges but outside of the Sydney region.

Another favourite.

I noted a wind change occurring late Saturday and this storm passed over. It was non severe but produced the result as shown in the attached images.

This was part of a powerful flash.
