On this day 28th October 1995, a classic supercell complete with persistent hook echo dumped hailstones to about 8cm around Cobbitty and hail flattened hail nets southern oart of Kemps Creek.

Yana and I chased first Rooty Hill and aimed for the Northern Road effectively missing the opportunity to go down Mamre road that would have revealed an excellent view of wall cloud and excellent structure. It was followed by a squall line.It is arguably one of the most impressive supercells we have seen - high end supercell too!
Michael Bath - via wife Alison had impressive video despite a slight distance away. Here are the stills and my photos of the structure approaching!

where have they gone?
Back in the days when thunderstorms occurred during spring. I have not heard a thunderclap this spring to date.
Just a few years ago now! Lovely structure
oh dear we have hit rock bottom haven’t we, posting pics of chases past. What a sad state of affairs. Just a few steps away from pureed minute steak, mushy peas and mashed potato for dinner 🤣
