Sometimes it is interesting to look at an whole Australia perspective of a system as compared to a state by state level to see the whole effect of wind fields associated with a tropical low and the associated cooler temperatures as the rest of the nation swelters in extreme heat! Obviusly heavy rain is also expected in far north Queensland with this system as the prognosis from the weather models have suggested for a few days now.

This tropical low/potential cyclone looks increasingly likely to be in my vicinity on Thursday/Friday this week. Will be my very first experience of a tropical cyclone if it comes to fruition. After being so dry here for so long, hundreds of millimeters are possible along with winds of Cat 1/2 cyclone strength in Townsville.
