It seems like the change to the storm season is imminent with a cold pool of air progressing over Sydney. The upper trough with temperatures at -26C at 500hPa brought rapidly developing cumulonimbus towers with showers, rain and even many reports of small hail across Sydney suburbs. As the axis of the upper trough progressed northeast, the cold air set in with cool to cold conditions during the evening. 2mm fell at Schofields in the several minutes.
