Headed out for a chase with a friend of mine Rodney. We past through a complex of storms near Coolah and experienced a very close bolt within 20 metres striking the ground in the field. Near Mullaley, we were within the warm sector but the outflow boundary was just north of us. One storm developed near Boggabri and intensified after about 20 minutes and moved northeast. We gave chase but without ideal roads, and the storm weakened, we headed northeast further towards Barraba.
After this storm, it was virtually time to head home. near Willow Tree, we were treated to a spectacular sunset and rainbow.
