rain is desperately needed now. an upper trough or low, surface trough, anything to drag in moisture from the NE.
The IOD changing to negative would help as well,
I’m starting to feel stressed and depressed. The fire map on the Fire Near Me app shows the fires appear to be slowly arcing around. If they join up then the westerly winds will blow them down the Grose Valley towards Faulconbridge and Winmalee. The Winmalee Koala colony is the only one left that has not been wiped out by these fires.
There is no rain forecast and that killer heat wave is heading across from Perth due to hit on Thursday. They say it might hit 50° C in the outback.
I guess once the whole wollemi and blue mountains are burnt out the fires will stop :D
