Big day as Dave David Nelson suggested 4 years ago
Ok finally got to my limited number of pictures - jammed out by traffic unfortunately. The first cell I was able to timelapse then I aimed for the central coast cell - I could have made it in front but the
traffic took care of that so I got off and measured the hail in the Berowra area -I measured up to 7cm in diameter. I then proceeded to go south again - the famous Pennant Hills Road did its trick and prevented me from getting anywhere decent - even Parramatta would have been ok. I photographed structures whatever I could and once on the M7 I watched two cells literally merge. Unfortunately the low light caused camera shake but you will get the gist of it!For those who don't know it… More

Damn. Looked like you wouldn’t need ice for your cooler bag for a while! :P
Great images Jimmy!
good stuff!
Thanks guys – unfortunately worst place to happen – it may take two years to repair all the cars or simply most of the cars from this event!
I feel your pain on the trafific side od things Jimmy Deguara the line coming out of the downs is nice, the triple point is about to cut loose around Nerang in the next couple of hours, Just to rub salt in it is pre christmas weekend and every man and his dog are going to be on the road. Recipe for disaster I reckon.
I wonder if the storms helped to make traffic worse??
Amazing Jim. It was explosive
Supercell city, was suppercell city here
Amazing pics!!
wonderful photos Jimmy, I wish I was on the north side of Sydney, even taking into account the traffic
Those storms had some strength in them yesterday. My cousin near Liverpool unfortunately has an insurance write off with their car. Crazy
Tricky chase with Sydney Traffic. Really needed my US car which is rated for this hail. It’s a matter of time until I upgrade my vehicle protection if the RMS allows “Hail Racks”
ridiculous!

Lots of smashed cars on the M1 Jimmy Deguara

Yes it’s been a great week for storm chasing could have done without all the damage
