What an incredible sight to awaken to a thick dust storm across Sydney - infact the whole of NSW, the ACT and Qld. It created a mess right across the Sydney suburbs and also caused disruptions to the airport.
The drought across NSW has deepened and this is a result of a strong upper level system that produced gale force winds with an associated wind shift. The wind shear was sufficient to lift dust which persisted for an extraordinary distance.
