Chased the NW Slopes and ended up on back roads to Narrabri! Dust bowl along the shelf cloud! The dust bowl storm came all the way from Coonamble. Met up with and chased with Jason Paterson and son Cameron
The
flash flooding came from the training cell dumping rain and moving relatively slowly - it had base rotation on video and you can see it tries to slow down and moved left but eventually the cells training on it outflow won outSource
One day ill be able to chase that far! Good stuff
Excellent photos.
Sydney wasn’t too great today, it’s tomorrow I’m concerned about. Upper level trough seems to be strengthening around here!
Thanks guys.
John you are correct -12 to -13C in Sydney January is not common. Might have to stick to my target though
Awesome stuff, Jimmy!
Certainly was an “interesting” few hours trying to stay ahead of the line. Didn’t get much opportunity for pics. Thanks for putting these up Jimmy
Serious;y good photos!
Good to see you got something 1 well done
Awesome photos. I was at work and my wife confirmed tiny hail from a fast moving storm over Western Sydney. It melted rapidly.
They were really dusty!!
Considering how green it is up there, those winds must have been really strong !! I tried to follow it from about 20kms north of Coonamble where the strongest section developed, but had to backtrack to Coonamble, then to Baradine, behind it all the way. Road network is not that good up there, too many dirt roads and the dreaded Piliga Scrub..
